Pressotherapy

At Optimal Health Clinic, Pressotherapy is not just offered as a treatment. It is used as part of a wider approach to helping you understand your body, support recovery and make sustainable lifestyle changes.

Supporting circulation, lymphatic function and long-term wellbeing

Pressotherapy Recovery and Lymphatic Optimisation

Support your body’s natural circulation, recovery and wellbeing with Pressotherapy at Optimal Health Clinic.

Pressotherapy is a relaxing, non-invasive treatment that uses advanced pneumatic compression technology to gently stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory systems. This specialised therapy can help support healthy fluid movement, promote circulation, aid recovery and leave you feeling lighter, refreshed and revitalised.

Our advanced Zemits Demeter 2.0 system provides full-body treatment options, allowing sessions to be tailored to your individual needs, comfort and wellbeing goals.

Pressotherapy

Supporting circulation, recovery and whole-body wellbeing

Pressotherapy is designed to support the body through gentle, rhythmic compression. During treatment, specialised garments inflate and deflate in a sequential pattern around the treatment area, helping to encourage lymphatic flow, circulation and venous return.

Many clients choose Pressotherapy as part of a broader health optimisation routine, especially when they are looking for support with recovery, heavy legs, temporary fluid retention, relaxation or general wellbeing.

Many people understand that the heart pumps blood around the body, but fewer realise that the lymphatic system is another important network that helps maintain fluid balance, support immune function and remove cellular waste products from tissues. Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system has no pump of its own and relies on movement, breathing, hydration and muscle contraction to keep lymph flowing efficiently.

A Calm, Pressurised Therapy Environment

How does Pressotherapy work?

Every minute of every day, your body is working hard to maintain balance. Blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues, while the lymphatic system helps remove excess tissue fluid, cellular waste products and other substances before they are returned to the bloodstream. It also plays an important role in supporting normal immune function and healthy tissue maintenance.

Unlike your heart, which continuously pumps blood around your body, the lymphatic system relies almost entirely on movement. Every walk you take, every deep breath you breathe and every muscle contraction you make helps encourage the movement of lymphatic fluid.

This is one of the reasons why regular physical activity, good hydration, quality sleep and effective stress management are such important foundations of long term health. These simple, modifiable lifestyle habits help support the body’s own physiological processes and are an important part of every personalised health programme we recommend.

The Zemits Demeter 2.0 Pressotherapy System has been designed to complement these natural processes through sequential pneumatic compression therapy. During your session, specially designed garments containing multiple independently controlled air chambers gently inflate and deflate in a carefully timed sequence. Beginning furthest from the body and gradually progressing upwards, the compression follows the natural direction of lymphatic and venous return, creating a comfortable wave like massage that supports healthy circulation throughout the treatment area.

Unlike a traditional massage, the Zemits Demeter 2.0 delivers precise, computer-controlled compression that can be adjusted specifically for your comfort and individual needs. Every programme is personalised following your health screening, ensuring that the treatment is both safe and appropriate for your circumstances.

Many clients describe the experience as deeply relaxing, often comparing it to a gentle rhythmic massage. Sessions typically last between 30 minutes, during which many people choose to listen to music or simply enjoy a period of uninterrupted relaxation. There is no recovery period afterwards, allowing you to return immediately to your normal daily activities.

At Optimal Health Clinic, we see Pressotherapy as one part of a much bigger picture. When combined with healthy lifestyle choices, including regular movement, good nutrition, effective hydration, restorative sleep and, where appropriate, complementary therapies such as Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy or Infrared Sauna, it can support your body’s natural ability to maintain healthy circulation, recover efficiently and optimise overall wellbeing.

How often can I undergo Pressotherapy?

Your course will be determined by your therapist based on your individual needs, goals and suitability.

On average, a course may consist of 10 to 15 sessions, with intervals of 2 to 4 days between treatments.

It is not usually advisable to undergo Pressotherapy every day. Daily treatments may overload the body without producing a significant additional effect. The pauses between sessions are important, as they allow the body time to adapt to the changes.

To help maintain the effect, a monthly session may be recommended, or a repeat course may be considered no sooner than six months later.

A balanced diet and gentle physical activity, such as morning exercises or regular movement, may help support and prolong the benefits of your wider wellbeing routine.

Some clients may choose to complete a course twice a year as part of a proactive approach to circulation, recovery, immune wellbeing and long-term health optimisation.
